Apple’s latest version of their iPhone OS, iPhone iOS 4 is available now to download later today. In order to install iOS 4 on your iPhone or iPod Touch you will need to download the latest version of iTunes, iTunes 9.2.

Once you have downloaded the latest version of iTunes, make a manual backup of your iPhone in iTunes, right click on your iPhone in the menu and press backup.

The new iPhone iOS 4 will work with the iPhone 3GS and 3G, although not all features will be available on the iPhone 3G.

The new features in iPhone iOS 4 include multitasking, which will allow you to run multiple applications at once, folders, which will let you organize your icons in different folders, for example you will be able to organize all your games in a ‘Games’ folder, or all your music applications in a ‘Music’ folder.

Apple has unveiled the next generation of their iPhone OS, iPhone OS 4.0. Apple’s Steve Jobs announced the iPhone OS 4.0 at a special press event.

The main feature that everyone wanted for the iPhone, Multitasking will be in the iPhone OS, this means that you will now be able to run multiple applications at once.

Multitasking in the iPhone OS will work like we expected, for example if you are using the web browser, and want to check your email, you just double click the home screen button and a window pops up that shows you icons for the applications that are running, then you just click on the one you want and it will launch automatically.

You will also be able to access the multitasking feature from the iPhone’s home screen. Apple said at their press conference the main reason they didn’t introduce multitasking before was they wanted to get it working so that it wouldn’t have any impact on battery life, which they say they have achieved with the iPhone OS 4.0.

Another interesting feature that Apple has introduced in the iPhone OS 4.0 is called ‘Folders’, Folders will let you arrange your icons in folders, for example you could place all you social network applications in one folder and all your games in another.

To launch an application from one of the folders, you just tap on the folder, and then tap on the application you want, this is a pretty cool feature and will make the iPhone interface more user friendly.

Previously you were able to have around 180 applications on your iPhone, with the Folder feature you will be able to store up to two thousand different applications on your iPhone.

Email on the iPhone has also received a major upgrade in iPhone OS 4.0, all of your emails will now be in a unified inbox, and you will be able to use more than one Exchange email account, you will also be able to easily switch between exchange accounts if you just want to read emails for a specific account.

The next new thing in iPhone OS 4.0, which we have already seen on the iPad is iBooks, now you will be able to read all your iBooks on your iPhone as well as your iPad and you will be able to sync your ebooks and continue reading them from wherever you left off on your iPad.

Apple have also made some updates for business customer in 4.0, which includes better security, improved mobile device management, compatibility with Exchange Sever 2010 and SSL VPN support.

An interesting new feature on the iPhone which will appeal to gamers is called Game Center, which is basically a social gaming network that will let you invite friends to play games, and it also has an achievements feature.

As we expected Apple will feature their iAd mobile advertising platform in the iPhone OS 4.0, which will help their developers make money and still enable them to develop and release free applications.

The adverts will be delivered inside the applications, which they believe will be more popular than search advertising as people are spending more time using application than they do with search.

An the adverts will be designed to keep you in the application, rather than have you click them and take you somewhere on the browser. Apple will sell and host the adverts, and then share 60% of the revenue with the developer.

This is a great idea for Apple, and could bring in some serious revenue, as the expect to be serving over one billion adverts per day to over 100 million users, which would mean you would see about ten adverts per day, which doesn’t sound to bad if the free applications are good.

Adverts will have interactive content, and some will even have game demos inside the advert, if you like the game demo you will then be able to buy the game from inside the advert and it will automatically download to your iPhone.

Apple iPhone OS 4.0 will be available for the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch third generation this summer, owners of the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2nd generation will get many of the features, but the one they wont get is multitasking, there we no details on whether the original iPhone will get anything.

The iPhone OS 4.0 will be coming to the Apple iPad in the fall of 2010. Overall it sounds like a decent upgrade to the iPhone OS, the addition of multitasking will please many people, myself included, this is one of the features that the iPhone definitely needed.

Shuttle has announced the launch of a new small form factor PC, the Shuttle XS35 PC, which is probably one of the smallest PCs made by the company measuring just 3.3cm thick.

The Shuttle XS35 PC will be shown off at CeBIT 2010, next month, it comes with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom D510 processor and features the NM10 Express Chipset, it has NVIDIA ION graphics, with an NVIDIA GT218 graphics chip and it is capable of playing back HD video.

The Shuttle XS35 PC features five USB 2,0 ports, one HDMI out so you can hook it up to your HDTV, VGA out, LAN, a memory card reader, a 2.5 inch HDD and an optical drive.

Intel has officially announced their latest processor in their Atom range, which is designed to be used in netbooks and nettop PCs, the Intel Atom N470.

The Intel Atom N470 is faster than the popular N450 processor, with a clock speed of 1.83GHz and it comes with 512KB of L2 Cache, it also supports DDR2 667 RAM.

According to Intel the new Atom processor is more efficient than previous models, and it will give increased battery life to netbooks, although the clock speed is faster than previous models.

The Intel Atom N470 also features integrated graphics, which is designed to provide a performance boost. There are no details as yet on when we are likely to see Intel’s latest Atom processor in a range of new netbooks and nettop PCs, although I am sure it won’t be long before manufacturers stat using this new processor.

Microsoft’s new mouse tracking software ‘BlueTrack’ allows you to use your mouse anywhere says Microsoft. The Bluetrack technology combine both the power of optical with the precision of laser.

Microsoft has released currently three mice with the BlueTrack technology installed: Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500, Wireless Mouse 2000 and Comfort Mouse 4500.

These two new tech mice will start shipping next month and Wireless Mouse 2000 will be available at a price tag of $29.95 and Comfort Mouse 4500 will be available at a price tag of $24.95 from next month.

Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 will be available from April with a price tag of $29.95 .

Google Nexus One mobile phone is powered by Android OS and as per reports the Nexus One hardware is allegedly from HTC–from the same mold as the HTC Passion to manfactured by HTC. Unlike previous Android mobiles whole user experience is designed by Google.

Google is expected to market the Nexus One directly rather through any wireless carrier partnership. It is expected to be an unlocked GSM-based device which will be available in early 2010-possibly as early as January. If it is, in fact, GSM-based, that means it will work on either the T-Mobile or AT&T networks.
