Sony launches size zero – ultra slim ‘Vaio X’ notebook
Sony has introduced its size zero new ulta slim light weight Sony ‘Vaio X’ series laptops in India. Touted as the world’s slimmest and lightest ultraportable laptop, VAIO X weighs merely 655gms and is about half an inch thin. It comes clad in lightly brushed aluminum panel covers isolation keyboard and the palm-rest area.
Sony Vaio X comes with ‘Silverthorne’ Intel Atom processor and it is pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional (32-bit). Sony offers VAIO X in two models VPCX113KG for Rs. 64,990 and VPCX117LG for Rs. 84,990 – both with one year international warranty.
Sony Vaio X series notebook key features:
- Comes in two styles – one with a smooth glossy finish and the other being a matt metal look
- Supports different battery variants (if not the standard one, the weight could increase to 755 gms)
- Battery will last ‘a working day’ or 16 hours
- 11.1 inch LCD display having a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and is LED backlit
- Well-spaced keyboard
- Integrated with mobile broadband (UMTS) – no external broadband cable required
- 2USB ports, VGA port, Ethernet socket and SD/ Memory Stick reader
- Built Motion-Eye webcam
- 32 bit Windows 7′ pre-installed
Sony plans to make a big impact with this miniature series, having romped in the original size-zero, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor as its brand ambassador.
